Concept rendering of a copper-roofed performing arts building beside a reflecting pool at golden hour
Sample case for a prospective lead benefactor

A living home for the world's oldest music.

A proposed center where Vedic chant, dhrupad, Carnatic and Hindustani music could be taught at university level, performed in a hall shaped for them, recorded with care and shared widely. This sample shows how the case could be made to a lead benefactor.

Concept rendering
Why this
Needs verification

Western classical, jazz and opera each have purpose-built academic and performance homes. The reference case argues Indian classical and sacred music, a tradition practiced for millennia, lacks an equivalent on the eastern seaboard. That gap claim needs a formal landscape review before external use.

Why HUA
Reference deck

HUA already treats dharmic study as scholarship, and its Pine Lake Retreat campus in Groveland offers lakeside land near Orlando air access. Putting performance inside a university means every concert can become course material and every visiting artist a masterclass.

Why a lead benefactor
Proposed concept

A multi-year lead pledge can plant the cornerstone without underwriting everything. Phases are sequenced so earned revenue starts before the largest spaces are built. Named-person cultivation language from the source is intentionally withheld from this public sample.

Every concert becomes course content. Every visiting artist becomes a masterclass. Every recording becomes an archive.

What support would build

Each item carries its provenance. Nothing here is a commitment.

  1. 01

    A 350-seat Nada acoustic hall

    Proposed concept

Tuned for chant, tanpura drone and acoustic classical instruments rather than retrofitted from a black box. The one-pager phases a 200-seat recital hall first.

  2. 02

    An outdoor Pine Lake amphitheater

    Proposed concept

Stone terraces, oil lamps and a reflecting-pool stage for open-air sacred concerts. Phase 3, funded from surplus and a secondary campaign.

  3. 03

    A spatial-audio sacred-sound dome

    Proposed concept

An immersive listening installation intended as the signature front door, field trip and story of the center.

  4. 04

    A professional recording studio

    Proposed concept

Control room and live room so performances can be archived, taught from and, with artist consent, released.

  5. 05

    An endowed distinguished chair

    Proposed concept

A named search for a scholar-practitioner in Hindu performing arts. Naming treatment proposed, never presumed.

  6. 06

BA and MA tracks in Sacred Performing Arts

    Needs verification

Proposed academic anchor. Would require institutional approval and accreditor review before any enrollment claim.

The ripple

One hall. A chair. A degree. A festival. An archive.

An annual Nada Festival, a streaming archive any seeker can reach, and students who can name their teacher's teacher. The ripple is the reason the case exists: a gift that compounds for decades if it is governed well.

The invitation (sample)

Plant the cornerstone, not the whole building.

The reference model sizes a tranched multi-year lead pledge to Phase 1 and 2 construction, with expansion funded later from operating surplus and secondary gifts. In this public sample the amount, naming and recipient are placeholders to be set with HUA leadership.
